What is Reverse Osmosis?

RO is a kind of membrane separation technology developed in the 1960s. It is working on the principle that water pass through the RO membrane whose bore diameter is 1/10000μm (1/60000 size of Escherichia coli, 1/3000 size of virus) from higher concentrated side to the lower one by pressurize. So that the industrial pollutants and impurities such as metal ions, bacteria, viruses separated from the input water.

Raw Water System


A complete raw water system consists of raw water tank, raw water pump, relative instruments, valves and pipe parts. The raw water tank is a buffer for water supply – water supply will stop by liquid level switch as soon as raw water tank is full; raw water pump will stop when water tank is is empty.



Multi Media Filter


Quartz sand filter is set to remove visible impurities, such as suspended solids, particulates and colloid; meanwhile it also decreases turbidity and colourity. Our self-developed quartz sand filter reduces the raw water SDI to less than 4, which strongly protected the RO membrane so as to ensure the high quality of the output water. And the quartz sand could be recovered by backwash, so the life time is long.

 

Activated Carbon Filter

Active carbon filter is set to protect the following RO membrane by removing free chlorine, organics, colourity, odor, and easily deposited heavy metal ion. Coconut base active carbon is adopted in our pretreatment system.

 

Softener

The water softening device is set for hardness reduce to protect the following RO membrane. As scaling will happen if the raw water is of high Ca or Mg ion concentration, the RO membrane will blocked , then output water will be of less volume and lower quality.


Precision Filter


Large suspended solids are removed after multi media filter and activated carbon filter, while small contaminants still exist. So the precision filter is set to remove the contaminants with a diameter above 5μm.

 

RO System

RO is a kind of newly developed membrane separation technology in the 1960s. It is working on the principle that water pass through the RO membrane whose bore diameter is 1/10000um (1/60000 size of Escherichia coli, 1/3000 size of virus) from higher concentrated side to the lower one by pressurize. So that the industrial pollutants and impurities such as heavy metal ions, bacteria, viruses separated from the input water. A complete RO system consists of pre-treatment part and RO host.


RO host is the key part of the whole system as it determines the output water quality. It mainly consists of booster pumps, membrane shell, RO membrane, control circuit and so on. The salinity filtering ability of RO host can be above 99% and conductivity of output water within 10us/cm(25℃) if with reasonable design. So the design reasonability will directly determine the cost-effective and operating convenience of the system. And power-saving, operating pressure, transmission and desalination rate and saltness of output water of RO membrane should be taken into consideration when design.


Ozone Sterilizer

Ozone sterilizer is installed to inhibit the bacteria, and also to keep the water fresh.

UV Sterilizer

UV sterilizer is equipped for sterilization and disinfection, meanwhile to resolve the extra ozone.
